Shopify Abacus integration without manual re-entry

Forgify connects Shopify and Shopify Plus to Abacus: articles, prices and stock from Abacus into Shopify; orders, customers and payments back into Abacus. We use the Abacus Marketplace connector where it fits and build on the Abacus REST API where it does not.

  • Connector first, custom only where needed
  • Written data contract

Best for

Swiss merchants running Abacus who re-enter Shopify orders by hand, fight stock drift, or need B2B prices from Abacus in Shopify.

Typical entry point

Describe your setup → connector check and data contract → fixed CHF quote → build against a test client.

Starting range

Custom integrations from CHF 8,000; complex multi-flow or multi-store scopes CHF 30,000+.

01 — In short

How do you connect Shopify to Abacus?

There are three routes: a ready-made connector from the Abacus Marketplace, an existing middleware, or a custom integration on the Abacus REST API. The choice depends on which records must flow. Products, prices and stock are well covered by the connector; order posting, invoices, refunds and B2B pricing often need custom work.

02 — Three routes

Connector, middleware or custom integration?

Start with the simplest route that covers your records and failure cases. We assess the connector first and only build what it cannot do.

03 — Data flows

What flows between Shopify and Abacus.

Each flow gets one owner, a direction, a trigger and a recovery path. These are the flows most Swiss merchants need.

04 — Before we start

What we need from the Abacus side.

Most delays in Abacus projects come from access and ownership questions, not code. We settle them in the scoping phase.

01Version and modules
Your Abacus version and the modules in use, such as order processing, debtors and accounting.
02Your Abacus partner
Who administers user management and can create the service user and entity access for the integration.
03A test client
A test Mandant or a safe test setup, so the first orders are never posted into live accounting.
04Field ownership
Which system owns each article, price, stock, customer and order field, signed off by operations and finance.

05 — How it runs

From connector check to monitored sync.

01

Connector check: we test whether the Abacus Marketplace connector covers your records and failure cases before proposing custom work.

02

Data contract: owners, directions, triggers and recovery for every flow, agreed with your Abacus partner, then a fixed CHF quote.

03

Build and test against a test client, with reconciliation reports comparing Shopify and Abacus record by record.

04

Go-live with monitoring and alerts, documentation of every mapping, and a handover your team or partner can maintain.

06 — FAQ

Shopify and Abacus, answered.

Yes. The Abacus Marketplace lists a Shopify Connector by DevQon for Abacus 2023 to 2026, with Q910 scopes for customers, products, prices and stock. It is a third-party product, not a Forgify product. Check order, invoice and exception handling with the provider, because those flows are not listed in its scopes.
